There's something innately pleasing about a beautiful scene framed in a window. I'm not sure why that is -- why the human brain loves capturing images in neat right-angled boxes -- but whatever the reason, it's fun to frame a picture "in the camera." This one's the view of Mount Rainier as seen from the upper floor of the Paradise (Henry M. Jackson) Visitor Center in Mount Rainier National Park. It's late November, so of course there is already snow on the ground, about three feet, with more on the way. For now, though, the Mountain is blanketed with fresh snow, and for now, the sun is out. There will be more snow soon, and the sun won't last, and the next view through this frame will be the white of fog.
