Photo of the day: Hoya bella

I photographed this beautiful and delicate set of flowers in the home of my friend Crow as we were practicing with off-camera flash lighting. The plant is located next to a large window, so there's quite a bit of light from that source, the flash just filling in on the other side. I like the perspective, shooting from underneath with the rest of the plant out of focus in the background, though it would also have been fun to spend a little more time looking at ways to isolate the lighting of the flowers so that the background disappeared into the dark (like this: www.flickr.com/photos/hoppingcrow/6893286971/). I shot this image lying down on my back looking up.
