Photo of the day: William O. Douglas wildflowers

I had business on the east side of Mount Rainier National Park this week, and took a little time along the way to check out conditions along the Naches Peak loop trail near Chinook Pass. The loop circumnavigates Naches Peak, both inside and outside of the national park. I took this photo on the Forest Service side, in the William O. Douglas Wilderness Area, of an unnamed creek meandering through the fog and the wildflowers, mostly lupine. I love hiking in sunshine, of course, but there's a beauty to the fog as well, and it brings out the vibrancy of the colors. I'm pleased with how the composition of this image turned out, with the stream and the log leading the eye into the picture and the trees disappearing into the fog in the distance.
