One of Mount Rainier National Park's outreach programs is a program called "Mount Rainier Adventures," a partnership with Tacoma MetroParks that brings families out for first-time camping experiences. They hike trails, set up tents, experience a campfire program, roast marshmallows, and (the kids at least) become "Junior Rangers." I love this photo of a newly-minted Junior Ranger because of the wonderful lighting on her face, reflected from the white cover of the Junior Ranger booklet. She was such a cute kid, too, so shy, but so keen to learn about the park!
