Photo of the Day: Death Valley

Death Valley, originally uploaded by The Bacher Family.
Here's a classic view of Death Valley, from our final full day in the park. This view is from the mouth of Natural Bridge Canyon, looking down over the lowest part of the valley and up at the highest point in the park in the distance, Telescope Peak--a vertical difference of more than 11,000 feet.

Later this afternoon, the winds kicked up in the valley, obliterating this view completely in a massive dust storm. In fact, you can already see just a hint of haze on the distant mountains.
